# Shoppers evacuated from Plymouth’s Drake Circus

Hundreds of people were evacuated from Drake Circus this morning (25 September).

At the time, various alarms could be heard coming from the building, while staff told people that "there has been an incident".

However a spokesperson for [Drake Circus](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/drakes-circus/) has now confirmed that the evacuation was a planned safety training exercise and that the centre is now open as usual.
