Street cordoned off as 'man assaulted' in Plymouth

A Plymouth street has been cordoned off this afternoon after a man was assaulted.

Emergency services were called at around 1.25pm today following a report of a man having been assaulted on Northesk Street in the Stoke area of Plymouth.

The victim has been taken to Derriford Hospital. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"The man remains in hospital with serious injuries.
"The scene guard has been lifted.
"Enquiries are ongoing to ascertain how the man sustained his injuries.
"Any witnesses are asked to contact police online or by telephone on 101, quoting reference 50260009036."
