Ben Rowe has been reinstated by Reform UK after being suspended just days after winning his seat on Plymouth City Council.

Plymouth Plus can reveal that Reform UK has reinstated Ben Rowe following an investigation conducted by their National Discipline Committee.

Cllr Rowe was elected to represent Ham in last month’s local elections after receiving 1,649 votes.

He was suspended by Reform shortly afterwards following historic social media posts allegedly shared by him.

The outcome of the investigation was that Ben Rowe was elected as a Reform UK councillor despite the allegations being widely reported and that the democratic basis on which he was elected should be respected.

Leader of the Plymouth Reform UK Group, Cllr Steve Ricketts (Drake) confirmed the news this afternoon. He said:

"Ben has been remitted to membership and restored to the Party Whip. He is back in the Reform UK Plymouth City Council Group.
"The Committee gave weight to his apology and to the fact that the publicity surrounding these matters has plainly been a serious personal lesson.
"The Party considers the matter resolved."

Cllr Rowe formally accepted his office at the Council House today (8 June), meaning he is now officially the Reform UK councillor for Ham.
