A 17-year-old motorcyclist has suffered potentially life-changing injuries after a serious crash in Plymouth, police have confirmed.
Police were called at around 10.15am on Thursday, 1 January after a collision on Shallowford Road involving a car and a motorcycle.
The crash involved an orange Royal Alloy motorcycle and an orange Ford Focus. A teenage rider was injured in the collision and was treated at the scene before being taken to Derriford Hospital.
The road was closed while Roads Policing Officers examined the scene and carried out enquiries.

Police are now urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has dash cam footage from Shallowford Road around the time of the crash, to contact them.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:
"We are appealing for witnesses and footage following a road traffic collision involving a car and motorcycle in Plymouth.
"We were called at around 10.15am on Thursday 1 January to the collision on Shallowford Road.
"The collision involved an orange Royal Alloy motorcycle and an orange Ford Focus.
"As a result of the collision, a 17-year-old male, who was riding the motorcycle, suffered potentially life-changing injuries.
"Shallowford Road was closed while the scene was examined by Roads Policing Officers.
"Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision who has not yet spoken to police, or anybody with dash-cam footage, to get in touch via 101 or our website quoting log 436 of 1 January."
