Three people have been arrested in connection with the death of a man who was found dead inside a burnt-out caravan on Christmas Day last year.

Godfrey Bradford, 81, was sadly found dead inside a static caravan at a remote rural farm on Old Exeter Road, north of Chudleigh on 25 December 2025.

Police, paramedics, firefighters and the [Devon Air Ambulance](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-air-ambulance/) were sent to the scene at around 10.50am.

They were called after concerns were raised for his welfare and once they arrived they found that the fire had already been extinguished.

His death was being treated as unexplained and [a major investigation was launched](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/man-found-dead-after-christmas-day-fire-at-devon-property/), with police working alongside fire service investigators to establish the circumstances surrounding what happened.

A significant cordon was put in place around the rural farmland for a number of weeks while detectives and forensic officers carried out enquiries at the scene.
