Tragedy on Plymouth Barbican as woman dies following ‘concern for welfare’ incident

A woman has sadly died following a large emergency response to a ‘concern for welfare’ incident on Saturday (4 October).

Police and paramedics were called to a property in Looe Street on the Barbican shortly after 1.25pm.

Several police vehicles, detectives and ambulance crews were at the scene for much of the afternoon, with forensic officers later entering the property.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:

"Police were called by the ambulance service at 1.25pm on Saturday 4 October following concern for the welfare of a woman at a property in Looe Street, Plymouth.
"The woman in her 50s was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
