# Two arrested after man found with multiple stab wounds on Plymouth cul-de-sac

Two people have been arrested after a man in his 30s was found with multiple stab wounds on a cul-de-sac in Plymouth last night.

Armed police and paramedics [flooded Kenley Gardens in Ernesettle](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/armed-police-flood-plymouth-street-after-stabbing/) at around 9.45pm on Thursday 16 April.

It was reported that a man in his 30s was found with stab wounds and was treated at the scene before being taken to [Derriford Hospital](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/derriford-hospital/) for further treatment.

A spokesperson for [Devon and Cornwall Police](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-and-cornwall-police/) said:

> "Police were called to the [Ernesettle](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/ernesettle/) area at 9.45pm on Thursday 16 April, following a report that a man in the street, in the Kenley Gardens area, had been located with stab wounds.

> "Police units, including armed officers, deployed to the area to carry out searches and enquiries.

> "The victim, a man in his 30s, had sustained multiple wounds and was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

> "A 53-year-old man from Plymouth has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. 

> "A 44-year-old woman from Plymouth has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They both remain in police custody at this time.

> "The community will see an increased police presence as scene guards remain in place while the investigation continues this morning.

> "Detectives are currently treating this as an isolated incident and those involved are believed to be known to each other.

> "Anyone with information which may assist officers, and anyone with any relevant dash-cam or doorbell footage, is asked to contact police on 101 or report via our [website](https://www.devon-cornwall.police.uk/contact/af/contact-us-beta/contact-us/?ref=plymouthplus.co.uk) quoting reference 50260095514."
