A suspected stolen car sparked a dramatic daytime pursuit in Plymouth after it was spotted on the Tamar Bridge at about 1.30pm on Sunday (19 October).
Officers moved in soon after and brought the vehicle to a stop on Wolseley Road in St Budeaux. Police say two other cars were damaged as the occupants tried to get away. One person ran from the scene but was found nearby.
A woman in her 20s from Dobwalls was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving while unfit through drink, driving without insurance and possession of a Class A drug. She has been bailed until 15 January 2026 pending further enquiries.
A man in his 40s from Saltash was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving. He was released without charge.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:
"Police were alerted at 1.30pm on Sunday 19 October following the sighting of a suspected stolen car on Tamar Bridge, Plymouth.
"Officers attended and brought the car to a stop in Wolseley Road a short time later.
"Two cars were damaged by the suspect vehicle as the occupants tried to evade police.
"One person fled the vehicle and was located nearby.
"A woman in her 20s from Dobwalls was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving while unfit through drink, driving without insurance and possession of a Class A drug.
