A Plymouth Christmas food video is being hailed worthy of a big brand festive advert after going viral.

The video advert, which shines a spotlight on Smash Land Burgers and Britain's oldest bakery, Jacka Bakery, has amassed thousands of views across social media.

Created by local influencer Curly Gaz and filmed by videographer Ashley Moran, many viewers have compared it to a John Lewis Christmas advert.

The festive advert was filmed on the Barbican and features Gaz’s own children alongside young performers from the Plymouth Performing Arts Academy.

Gaz Packer, also known as Curly Gaz, told Plymouth Plus:

“ We love bringing Plymouth together and featuring local talent from around Plymouth “

The advert arrives at a time when independent hospitality businesses are facing increased pressure from rising costs and tighter margins.

With more than 350 independent food and drink venues across Plymouth, content creators like Curly Gaz are playing a growing role in helping local businesses reach wider audiences.
