Armed police were called to a popular Plymouth park yesterday afternoon.
Police were called at around 4.30pm on Thursday, 1 January by a woman who reported that she 'stabbed a man in the neck'.
She told police that the altercation in the park followed an alleged sexual assault at a property in Plymouth.
Officers located the man in Devonport Park, who was found to have a superficial scratch to the neck.
The South Western Ambulance Service sent one double crewed land ambulance, and an operations officer to the scene.
Paramedics treated the man, aged in his 50s, at the scene before he was arrested by the police on suspicion of sexual offences.
Police say that following a review of evidence, the man will face no further police action.
