# Woman dies after 'medical episode' outside Plymouth tower block

A woman has sadly died after a suspected medical episode outside a tower block in Plymouth this morning.

[Emergency services were called to Duke Street in Devonport](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/plymouth-street-cordoned-off-amid-serious-incident/) at around 8.50am this morning, Tuesday, 3 March.

Plymouth Plus waited for confirmation that the woman's next of kin had been informed before reporting the update.

[Paramedics](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/south-western-ambulance-service/) and [police](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-and-cornwall-police/) attended, and the woman aged in her 50s was pronounced deceased at the scene.

[Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/devon-and-somerset-fire-and-rescue-service/) also attended to erect privacy screens at the scene.

Police have confirmed that the woman's death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.
