A woman in her 30s has sadly died after police and paramedics were called to a property on Saturday afternoon.
Police were called to Westhampnett Place in the Ernesettle area of Plymouth at around 3.20pm on Saturday, 1 November following reports of a concern for welfare of a woman.
Officers attended alongside paramedics, but despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The woman’s death is not being treated as suspicious, and police have referred themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to prior contact they had with the deceased.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:
"We were called at around 3.20pm on Saturday 1 November following a report of a concern for welfare for a woman within a property in Westhampnett Place, Plymouth.
"Officers attended along with paramedics.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of the emergency services, a woman in her 30s was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.
"Devon and Cornwall Police has made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct [IOPC] following the incident, due to prior police contact with the deceased."
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service told Plymouth Plus:
“We were called at 13:29 hrs on Saturday 01 November to a medical incident in Plymouth.
"We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, and an operations officer to the scene.”
