A woman in her 30s was sadly found dead inside Plymouth’s HMS Drake Naval Base.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 4pm on Saturday, 10 January, following reports of concern for the welfare of a woman.
Flying medics from the Devon Air Ambulance were sent to the scene alongside land medics from the South Western Ambulance Service.
Despite their best efforts, the woman, aged in her 30s, was sadly confirmed deceased at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.
Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed that her death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
His Majesty's Coroner will conduct a coronial investigation into the death in due course.
