A woman has been found dead inside a Travelodge hotel room in Plymouth.
The woman aged in her 50s was discovered deceased by staff at the hotel in the City Centre.
Paramedics were called to the hotel by the staff, and the woman was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police attended and carried out an investigation into the death which is not believed to be suspicious.
The woman has not been identified at this stage, and the matter will now be passed to His Majesty's Coroner for an inquest to take place in due course.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:
"Police were called by the ambulance service at 1.10pm on Wednesday 19 November following concern for the welfare of a woman at a Plymouth hotel.
"The woman in her 50s from Plymouth was located within one of the rooms at Travelodge, Derry’s Cross.
"Sadly, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
