A woman was left requiring air ambulance treatment after slipping on a dangerous icy Plymouth pavement.
The woman suffered a leg injury so severe that the Devon Air Ambulance had to attend to administer specialist emergency medical treatment.
It comes as Plymothians across the city face dangerous icy conditions on our highways and pavements.
Many have expressed frustration that pavements are left without grit, with numerous grit bins removed from across the city.
Under the Highways Act 1980, Plymouth City Council has a legal duty to ensure that safe passage along a highway is not endangered by snow or ice.
Pavements form part of the highway network, and the woman sustained her injuries on the pavement along Lipson Road.

She was later taken to Derriford Hospital by the South Western Ambulance Service after being given ketamine, a powerful pain relief medication.
Flying medics attended because enhanced pain relief of this kind is not routinely available on land ambulances.
