# Young girl ‘hit by van’ on busy Plymouth road

Police closed a busy road in Plymouth during rush hour this afternoon (15 September).

An eyewitness at the scene told Plymouth Plus that a young girl was hit by a van while crossing the road.

The incident occurred on a pelican crossing in [St Budeaux](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/st-budeaux/) Square and led to the closure of Wolseley Road.

A doctor-led medical team from BASICS Devon (British Association for Immediate Care) was sent to the scene.

The [South Western Ambulance Service](https://www.plymouthplus.co.uk/tag/south-western-ambulance-service/) also sent one double-crewed land ambulance and an operations officer.

Delays stretched back as far as the Camels Head junction but the road has since reopened.
