Air ambulance lands after man dies at Beacon Park Social Club in Plymouth

Emergency services rushed to Beacon Park Social Club in Plymouth late on Monday night after a man in his 80s became seriously unwell.

Two land ambulances, an operational officer, and the Cornwall Air Ambulance, which landed nearby in North Down Park, all responded to the incident.

Police arrived at the scene after the man was sadly pronounced deceased by the medics. The pub was emptied and closed early as a result.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:

"Police were called at 11.55pm on Monday 23 June following concern for the welfare of a man in Plymouth.
"The man in his 80s had become unwell at Beacon Park Social Club in Beacon Park Road.
"Ambulance attended.
"Despite the best efforts of emergency services the man was declared deceased at the scene.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious."
