Police are appealing for information and footage after a man was arrested following a terrifying knifepoint robbery in Plymouth in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday, 29 October).
Police were called at around 3.45am to Kit Hill Crescent in the Barne Barton area of St Budeaux after reports of a man armed with a knife making threats to harm another man.
The suspect is believed to have approached a car, spoken to one of the occupants, stolen vehicle keys and fled the scene.
A man in his 40s from Plymouth has been arrested on suspicion of robbery, attempted robbery and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place. He remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
Detective Constable Emily Tidy said:
“We are urging any witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch. We are particularly asking residents in the area to check their CCTV, doorbell cameras or dashcams for any suspicious activity between 3.15am and 4am today.
“If you live in the area or were driving through and saw anything suspicious then we would urge you to please contact us.”
