A man has been arrested after an item was hurled through the window of a home in Wordsworth Road, Plymouth.
Police were called after reports that an item had been thrown through the window of the property in North Prospect.
A man in his 40s suffered a facial injury after being struck by a piece of glass when the window shattered. Officers arrived at the scene shortly after and located a suspect behaving aggressively further down the street.
A man in his 20s from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to the property and assault by beating.
He later received a deferred caution, which means police gave him the chance to avoid a formal caution or charge subject to him complying with certain conditions such as paying compensation or staying out of trouble for a set period.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Plymouth Plus:
"Police were called following a report of criminal damage to a property in Plymouth.
"An item was thrown through the window of an address in Wordsworth Road by an unknown man.
"A man in his 40s sustained a facial injury after being hit by a piece of glass when it was smashed.
"Officers attended and located the suspect behaving aggressively further down the street.
"A man in his 20s from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to property and assault by beating. He received a deferred caution."
