Michael Barrymore says ‘Plymouth is a beautiful city’ after exploring the city during a visit last week.
Having recently moved to South Devon, Barrymore said he was blown away by what Plymouth had to offer, adding: “What a cool city it turned out to be.”
Barrymore has become an icon for Gen Z in recent months thanks to his soaring popularity on social media, where he has found a new audience.
Breckie kicked off Barrymore’s day in Plymouth as he headed to Oggy Oggy in the city centre for a bacon sarnie.

From there, Barrymore made his way to Drake Circus, where he stopped to meet fans and pose for photographs. He also popped into schuh before heading into Lush in search of a bath bomb.
During his visit, he came across street busker Stevie Jay and her doggy companion, Charlie the husky, with the pair singing Somethin’ Stupid together.

He later made his way to Plymouth Hoe, taking in the views along the promenade and loving every minute as he compared the city to Barcelona. He said: “It reminds me of Barcelona, a big city by the sea. It’s so peaceful.”
After soaking it all in, he continued his crusade down to the Barbican, ticking off yet another one of the city’s iconic spots.

On his way back towards the city centre, he stopped at Shakeaway, where he tried a Daisy Donna milkshake, which he described as “handsome”.
He also stopped at the Fancy Pants Cakes and Bakes Trailer to say hello and pose for photos with locals.
Before leaving, Barrymore returned to Plymouth Market, where he enjoyed Mexican street food from Compadres, tucking into chicken al pastor.

Reflecting on his visit, Barrymore said: “I really like it. I’ve had a great time here for my first trip.”
