Two males in balaclavas tore through Plymouth streets in a stolen motorbike chase last night, 22 April.

Hero police officers raced to protect the public, establishing multiple stinger sites in a coordinated attempt to bring the motorbike to a safe stop and limit the danger to the public.

Devon and Cornwall Police received multiple reports of a motorcycle being driven dangerously on Old Laira Road.

With this being the second helicopter pursuit in Plymouth in just two days, concerns are growing over vehicle-related crime and public safety.

The bike had been reported stolen the previous day and the masked suspects rode recklessly through Mutley, St Judes and Greenbank, putting lives at risk as they evaded capture.

The police helicopter was deployed, scouring the city from above to track the suspects and support units on the ground.

Despite the best efforts of the police, the motorbike was not recovered and the suspects remain at large. Police are continuing their enquiries.
