A police helicopter was deployed over Plymouth last night after a food delivery driver’s car was allegedly stolen while he was making a delivery.
Officers launched an urgent search following the incident in the Stoke Road area, with the vehicle later recovered and a woman in her 30s arrested.
Police were called at around 7.15pm on Sunday, 15 February following a report that a vehicle had been stolen while parked outside flats in Stoke Road.
The delivery driver had been making a delivery to a nearby property when his vehicle was taken, prompting extensive area searches across the city.
Thankfully, his vehicle was returned to him after it was located by police on Wilton Road. A spokesperon for Devon and Cornwall Police said:
"We were called at around 7.15pm on Sunday 15 February following a report of a vehicle being stolen while parked outside flats in the Stoke Road area of Plymouth.
"Following an area search the vehicle located by officers and a suspect arrested.
"A woman in her 30s has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of a knife or bladed article in a public place. She has been bailed while enquiries continue.
"The vehicle has been returned to its owner."
