A driver has been rushed to hospital after a car crashed into a fence and flipped onto its roof during rush hour.
The crash happened on Plymouth Road this afternoon, close to Woodford Avenue and Marsh Mills, causing heavy delays for drivers heading through the area.
A red Mazda CX-5 Sport Nav Plus was badly damaged in the collision, which left the car resting on its roof.
Firefighters attended the scene and freed the occupant of the vehicle, who was rushed to Derriford Hospital.
The extent of their injuries is not yet known. One lane of Plymouth Road was closed as a result of the incident, but has since reopened.
The closure led to significant delays around Marsh Mills and Plymouth Road and during the evening rush hour.
