A rescue mission involving a Dutch warship has been unfolding off the coast of Plymouth this evening (31 August).
HM Coastguard sent a search and rescue helicopter to the Royal Netherlands Navy patrol vessel HNLMS Friesland.
A person was airlifted from the vessel before being taken to RM Bickleigh, a helicopter landing site on the outskirts of Plymouth.
The exact nature of the emergency has not yet been confirmed.
An ambulance crew was seen arriving on blue lights at the helicopter once it landed at RM Bickleigh.
