A major search and rescue operation has now been suspended after a French fishing vessel sank south-west of Eddystone Lighthouse.
Five people were on board the sunken vessel Maranello, which sank just after 6pm on Saturday (29 August).
Three crew members were rescued by the Maranello’s sister fishing vessel, the Stradale, while two still remain unaccounted for this evening.
Four RNLI lifeboats and at least six aircraft have been involved in the search, alongside more than 15 other vessels.
Two casualties were brought to Plymouth Lifeboat Station before being taken to Derriford Hospital, while Plymouth Plus understands the third casualty was airlifted by helicopter to Newquay Airport.
