Bergerac is back, with the hit detective series filming across Plymouth once again this week.
Crews and actors have been spotted at various locations as production gets underway for the third series of the hugely popular classic crime drama.
Filming has been taking place at the University of Plymouth and nearby, with filming also being carried out inside an underground car park on Regent Street.
The production has established its base at Outland Road Car Park, adjacent to Home Park, home to Plymouth Argyle.
The six-part series will see Damien Molony return as legendary detective Jim Bergerac, with filming taking place across Jersey and the South West ahead of its return to screens in 2027.
Zoë Wanamaker and Robert Gilbert will also be returning alongside Molony.
The latest series will also feature a string of familiar faces, with Jason Flemyng, Tessa Peake-Jones, Lee Ingleby and Georgia Tennant joining the cast.
It is not the first time Plymouth has been transformed into Jersey for the hit series.
Last year, production crews descended on the University of Plymouth for the filming of series two.
The university's Immersive Vision Theatre was transformed into a Jersey police station, while other locations around the campus were used for scenes including a hospital, boardroom and hotel kitchen.
Other parts of Devon have also appeared in Bergerac, including Exmouth Police Station, Hope Cove, Torquay and a number of locations around Exeter.
The production has been heavily supported by Visit Jersey, with millions of pounds in grant funding provided by the Government of Jersey to help bring Bergerac back to television screens.
The Government of Jersey awarded Visit Jersey £713,897.47 to support series one, followed by £1,423,000 for series two.
The investment appears to have paid off for the island, with the first two series generating around £1.57 million in direct production spending in Jersey and almost 2,000 hotel room nights.
Hundreds of local supporting artists have also appeared in the programme, while Jersey residents have been employed as actors, crew members and trainees.
The revived Bergerac has also become a major television success.
The first series launched in 2025 and attracted millions of viewers, while series two, which arrived earlier this year, averaged around 1.3 million viewers across its six episodes.
UKTV says Bergerac became its highest-rated programme of 2025, with the drama introducing one of British television's most recognisable detectives to a new generation.
The original Bergerac became one of Britain's best-known detective dramas during the 1980s and starred John Nettles as the Jersey detective.
Now, more than three decades later, the crime series is firmly back, and Plymouth is once again helping to bring Jersey to television screens across the country.
