Five arrested after Plymouth ‘stabbing’ leaves man with serious injuries

Five people have been arrested after a man was seriously injured in a ‘stabbing’ near a Plymouth tower block.

Emergency services were called to Curtis Street in Devonport at around 10.20am this morning, Sunday, 3 May, following reports of a serious assault.

An eyewitness at the scene told Plymouth Plus that “someone was stabbed outside the Lynher House tower block."

Paramedics from the South Western Ambulance Service rushed the man to Derriford Hospital with serious injuries.

Armed police also attended to help secure the scene and detain the suspects, with a cordon in place this afternoon.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"Police were notified at around 10.20am this morning, Sunday 3 May, to reports of a serious assault on Curtis Street, Plymouth.
"Emergency services attended the area and located a man with serious injuries who was taken to hospital.
"Five people have been arrested in connection with the incident and are in police custody.
