A joint police and fire service investigation has been launched after a blaze tore through two homes in Plymouth early this morning (20 July).
Firefighters from seven different fire stations across Devon and Cornwall rushed to the scene near Greenbank Road at around 4.43am.
The fire affected two neighbouring properties on Cheltenham Place which are understood to be houses in multiple occupation (HMOs).
Thankfully, Greenbank Fire Station is directly opposite the scene, and firefighters were on the scene extinguishing the fire within minutes.
Detectives have been speaking with occupants of the two households this morning as an investigation is underway to establish how the blaze started.
