Police were deployed in large numbers yesterday as rival groups held a protest and counter-protest in Plymouth city centre.
The “Great British National Strike” protest began at noon near the Sundial on Armada Way, with a counter-protest quickly forming in opposition.
Tensions ran high throughout the afternoon, with a visible police presence working to keep groups apart.
