A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found dead in Plymouth last night.

Man in his 20s dies after ‘murder’ in Plymouth
A murder investigation has been launched after a man in his 20s died on Embankment Road in Plymouth, with a 57-year-old man arrested.

Armed police, paramedics and a police helicopter were deployed as part of the response to the incident at a residential property on Embankment Road.

Plymouth Plus understands that the incident prompted a manhunt across various parts of Plymouth, including Mutley, Greenbank and Devonport.

Armed police and dog units appeared to focus their searches on parks and open spaces in those areas, with a male suspect being arrested as a result.

Devon and Cornwall Police say officers were called to the property just after 8.20pm on Monday, 4 May, following reports of a serious assault.

​A person, believed to be known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Detectives and scenes of crime officers were seen at the scene last night, and a cordon remains in place this morning.

Police have confirmed that they are not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident, which is believed to be isolated with no wider threat to the public.
