Plymouth voters woke up on election day to find something else watching them before they had even reached the polling station.

Brand new speed cameras were installed on Outland Road overnight, appearing under the cover of darkness just as the city prepared to go to the polls.

The cameras are understood to enforce the 30mph speed limit on both sides of the road, as well as red light jumpers.

Outland Road is one of the city’s busiest routes, carrying thousands of vehicles in and out of Plymouth each day.
