Tamar Bridge staff save man from precarious position

A man has been brought to safety from a precarious position on the Tamar Bridge this afternoon (17 August).

Tamar Bridge staff rushed to the pedestrian cantilever after the man was seen in a precarious position.

HM Coastguard sent the RNLI inshore lifeboat to the scene alongside Plymouth Coastguard Rescue Team (CRT).

Police and the ambulance service also attended but by the time emergency services arrived the man had already been brought to safety.

The man was left in the care of healthcare professionals following the incident.
