Residents disappointed after Plymouth park closed by council due to safety concerns

Plymouth City Council has temporarily closed a popular Plymouth park due to safety concerns.

Residents contacted Plymouth Plus expressing disappointment that Moorview Park in Mutley was suddenly closed.

The council took the decision to close the park after the wooden ramp leading into it became unsafe.

A spokesperson for Plymouth City Council said:

"We have temporarily closed Moorview Park because the ramp leading into the park has become unsafe.

"We are working to get repairs completed so that the park can be reopened as soon as possible.

"The nearest alternative parks are at Houndiscombe Road, Drake’s Reservoir and Mutley and Thorn Park."
