Police closed a busy road in Plymouth during rush hour this afternoon (15 September).
An eyewitness at the scene told Plymouth Plus that a young girl was hit by a van while crossing the road.
The incident occurred on a pelican crossing in St Budeaux Square and led to the closure of Wolseley Road.
A doctor-led medical team from BASICS Devon (British Association for Immediate Care) was sent to the scene.
The South Western Ambulance Service also sent one double-crewed land ambulance and an operations officer.
Delays stretched back as far as the Camels Head junction but the road has since reopened.
