A major emergency response was sent to Plymouth Hoe this afternoon (15 September).
Plymouth Plus understands that a man suffered injuries after falling down a basement next to the pavement on Citadel Road.

The South Western Ambulance Service sent two crewed land ambulances to the scene and conveyed the man to Derriford Hospital.
Firefighters assisted paramedics in extracting the casualty from the basement, with two appliances and an aerial ladder platform sent to the scene.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service told Plymouth Plus:
"We were called at 3.29pm today to reports a person had fallen down a 15 foot drop on Citadel Road, Plymouth.
"Crews from Greenbank station used working at height equipment to reach the casualty and place them in a stretcher and into the care of an ambulance crew.
"The casualty has been taken to hospital by ambulance."
