A large sailing yacht has been left stranded on a slipway after getting caught out by the tide in Plymouth.
The yacht, called Moana, has been left in a precarious position on the slipway at Queen Anne's Battery Marina after running aground at low tide.
Ropes have been attached as efforts are underway to secure the vessel, which is roughly 30ft long and weighs around 5 tonnes.
Plymouth Plus understands that the vessel exceeded the available depth of water, meaning the boat needed more water beneath it than was available.
This caused the yacht to become grounded as the tide dropped, leaving it stranded in an awkward position on the slipway.
A recovery operation is now underway, with Cattewater Harbour Commissioners in attendance.
A pollution boom has also been placed around the yacht to help prevent any pollution from entering the watercourse.
The Marine Accident Investigation Branch has been contacted for comment.
